How do I get rid of theft in my record?

More details to this question:
I just turned 18 and got caught shoplifting. I never did things like that be for but I was hanging with the wrong crowd. My action cause a lot of commotion. I received a citation and they haven’t mailed the fine. I have no clue where to start.

Plead not guilty and see a lawyer. You need to have the charges withdrawn and an attorney can guide you how to do it.
