QUESTION

How do I get underage consumption expunged?

Asked on Dec 01st, 2016 on Expungements - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I am a student from the UK studying in the US. When I was 19 I was charged with underage consumption, I'm now 22. I did not have to pay a fine, I was just given 20 hours of community service, and I was not put on probation or anything. How would I get this expunged? And do I have to write this on applications when it asks about any criminal offenses?

there is a provision of Tennessee law that allows a case to be expunged. However, there has to be 5 years between the date that you complete all provisions of the punishment and the date that you can file a petition to get it expunged. Look up Tennessee Code Annotated 40-32-101 for more specifics.
