How do I go about restoring my right to have a weapon?

More details to this question:
I have been convicted of two non-violent felonies in 1974 and I would like to be able to have rifle for hunting I received a bench patrol for both of these charges and I have not even gotten a parking ticket since then.

If these were Federal felonies, your options are very limited. Most states have procedures to reduce the degree of conviction, expunge or grant a pardon to folks like you who haven't been in any trouble for years.
