How do I go about retracting an assault accusation?

My friend was arrested. In retrospect, I may not have a completely clear recollection of the events. I had recent spine surgery and was using strong prescription pain medication on the date of my report. The events of the night were a little bit fuzzy.

It doesn't work like that. Prosecutors will never drop charges just because the victim has had a change of heart/story. The fact is, in 95% of all domestic cases the parties reconcile, and prosecutors are well aware of this. Your friend needs a good lawyer.
