I was arrested with an OWI in Kalamazoo, Michigan almost 6 months ago. At the time I was never given a "temporary paper license" so I ordered a new Drivers License online and received it within a few weeks. It did not say "Identification Card", it said "Drivers License". Since then, someone stole my purse with my license inside and when I tried to get a new one at Secretary of State, they asked for my temporary paper license, which I obviously did not have either. I do not want to contact any courts or police stations if not necessary to obtain a new one because I am afraid bringing my case to their attention will cause them to file it more quickly, and I'm hoping they "lose it", if you will. My question is how to obtain a new temporary/drivers license bringing the least attention possible to my case/file. Any help would be wonderful. Thank you!
You can't. You are stuck in the catch 22 of the court v. Secretary of State. Was blood drawn? That can take 1 1/2 years to get results back. Speak to a local attorney to verify what I'm saying.
