QUESTION

How do you go about getting a no contact order dropped?

Asked on May 25th, 2014 on Criminal Law - Missouri
More details to this question:
I live in Missouri. A judge has ordered a no contact between me and my boyfriend. I believe it should be dropped. I have never been in trouble for anything but a seat belt ticket. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance while at my house and that is the reason the court is giving for placing the no contact.

This would depend on whether this is a condition of a bond, condition of probation, or a full order of protection. To remove a full order of protection, a memo would need to be filed with the court to be dismissed by the petitioner. If it is a condition of a bond, or condition of probation a motion would have to be filed with the court requesting removal of that condition.
