How does two thirds or halftime served work?

My husband is on 9 months misdemeanor probation, is currently incarcerated, has got accepted to a 6 month rehab but won’t be transferred until July. He now is a trusty. They told him he's looking at 2/3rds or halftime served. What does that mean?

My understanding is that he receives good time, calculated at 55% of the sentence imposed. ?I am unfamiliar with the 2/3.
