QUESTION

How long after DUI could I wait to be arraigned?

Asked on Aug 29th, 2020 on DUI/DWI - Michigan
More details to this question:
I live in Lansing, MI. I received my first ever criminal infraction on July 1, 2020 which was for DUI. I failed the PBT and my license was confiscated. I was not taken to jail though. All I have is the crash report and a paper with the PBT results which includes a temporary driving permit. How long can I expect to wait before I am arraigned?

The prosecutor's office may be waiting for the test results or blood work before issuing formal charges. Once charges are issued you may be picked up on the warrant. You may want to have representation in place so that if and when charges are issued, your attorney can make arrangements to turn yourself in.
