More details to this question:
The police searched my home with a search warrant that was for a meth lab. I did not have a lab in my house however, the police took many household items out of my house that they state was used for a meth lab. All the items were located in my home where they should be. Examples: had an ice pack with my first aid kit, unopened drain opener under my kitchen sink, unopened paint thinner in my basement with paint. The detective gave me a list of items that were removed from my home and said that charges will be coming. If there a time limit for them to file charges. It has been 2 weeks and it is very stressful for me, every little noise I here I wonder if they are coming to arrest me.
They use the SW to get evidence of crime. They present that evidence to a prosecutor to determine if the prosecutor wants to file charges. If the prosecutor wants to file charges, then s/he presents the evidence and charges to a judge for an arrest warrant (signed by a detective). This can take years, but is usually done within 6 months.
