How long can they keep my car if it was seized?

More details to this question:
The car was seized, the boyfriend was charged with possession of marijuana in the car still hasn't been released.

See an attorney, I suspect it is being held as evidence and, if you are not cautious an action might be commenced to forfeit it.

Depending on who seized the car & why & who the owner is, the vehicle usually you have to buy it back. Did the owner receive a forfeiture notice. The vehicle can be kept by police agency or sold at auction. I suggest you check with a local criminal attorney if you are registered owner.
