I got a $85 ticket earlier today for making a left turn on a cross section, as the light was turning yellow. The light might have turned red as I completed the turn, but there was a police officer on the opposite side who then stopped me and gave me a ticket for this offense. I do not mind paying off the ticket to avoid going to the court, but am concerned if this will add points on to my insurance and cause an increase. The traffic ticket code is 39:4-81.
You can avoid the points and avoid the potential increase in insurance. However, the legal fee is $1500. I would prefer a clean record but the cost is significant. Ed Dimon
