More details to this question:
How much will a 2C:35-10A(4) & 2C:36-2 be in fines and is there any jail time? My buddy was driving home and had a glass piece and under 5 grams of marijuana in his trunk. He got pulled over and got a ticket for those two charges. He is just worrying about the money. He does have part time jobs but they dont pay good. The officer said it can be from $500-$1,000 with also a probation. He doesn't think he has enough money for a good attorney. What do you think the best idea is? His court date is 10/4 and should he just get a state attorney or just represent himself.

Does your friend have a prior Conditional Dhacharge? If not, we may be able to have the disposition deferred so that there are no charges. Where did this happen ? Could his friends and family help him with the legal fees ? Please call to discuss. Ed Dimon 732-797-1600
