How will the DA contact me on a misdemeanor case?

More details to this question:
A police report was made against me for misdemeanor financial elder abuse. I just want to know how will they contact me? Will I get a court date by mail or will I be arrested?

You could be arrested, but if you have not been asked to speak to the police, you will likely get a arraignment hearing notice in the mail.

You can get a lawyer and have them check if a warrant has been issued against you.

You will get a court date in the mail. From this point forward you need to exercise your right to remain silent and hire a lawyer before you make a wrong move and shoot yourself in the foot.
