More details to this question:
A police report was made against me for misdemeanor financial elder abuse. I just want to know how will they contact me? Will I get a court date by mail or will I be arrested?
The answer varies depending on the procedures of the jurisdiction where the criminal charges may be filed. For example, some jurisdictions may find probable cause via grand jury indictment; while others may utilize the preliminary hearing type procedure to make a probable cause finding. Just make sure the mailing address listed under your driver's license is correct/up to date in case certain legal documents or notices are sent to you via USPS mail by the prosecuting authority. Best of luck with your legal worries.
You will get a court date in the mail. From this point forward you need to exercise your right to remain silent and hire a lawyer before you make a wrong move and shoot yourself in the foot.
