QUESTION

Huge drivers license mess. Please advise.

More details to this question:
I am 25 years old and I have never had my drivers license. When I was 16 years old I made a childish mistake and stole my moms car to drive a friend home. This started the downward spiral that is my drivers license. Countless court appearances, the verdict by the court was to suspend my privilege to get my license. This has happened at least 6 times. I've paid fines and seen every judge in the state always with the same outcome. Suspended license, unlicensed driving fine. I know that by now I should have done jail time along with the fines, but what's happened now is that the courts have overlooked the fact that I actually don't have a drivers license so many times that now even the prosecutors do not even acknowledge the fact that I don't have a license, and always treat it as a suspended license. I understand that this is 100% my fault for not making this information available to the court at the times of appearance, but now I am in a very messy situation. I purchased a car from a dealership and was not aware that in New Jersey you are not permitted to purchase a car without a valid drivers license. The dealership wanting to make the sale, somehow used my ID card to register the vehicle, and I placed my name on my girlfriends insurance and boom. I have a registered and insured vehicle in NJ, but I do not have a license. I don't know what to do anymore. I am always stressed out, I have a very important job at a paving company where I am the superintendent and I am required to be able to drive around the job and supervise. I have no idea how to go about the situation with the courts, the DMV, or anywhere else. I just want to get this taken care of once and for all and move on with my life.

we have just done two similar cases. one person had ten violations. the second person had 21 violations. the second person was in jail. we were successful in both matters. we provide a 'global resolution' to the multiple municipal courts which addresses all of the charges in all of the courts. by explaining the full problem to all the courts, we have been able to avoid the multiple violations and muliple fines. we use the  NJ DMV records and make sure all matters are done properly. the costs can be significant in that there are muliple court appearances and multiple violations/fines. ed dimon 732-797-1600 ext 235
