I was convicted in 1987 and ended up pleading no contest because the judge openly stated in court he would never accept anything other then a guilty plea from me. I was not guilty then and not guilty now. Case went on and on for months. Was never ever given a chance to tell my side of story. Tried for years to get copies of the court transcript to file a bias claim, but even those records don't exist and havent for many years. Wen't through a laundry lists of public defenders that kept withdrawing because i refused to plead guilty as well and they seemed to just want to move on to the next case. My health is not good, I am 65 years old and cannot travel to Florida even if i wanted to but would like to resolve this while I still have time so as to have a clean slate when my time comes. I have not been in any legal trouble since that time and would be grateful for any help. All lawyers in California want lots of money where I feel a few letters or phone calls could resolve this matter.
Reach out to any one of the thousands of attorneys in Florida who practice criminal law and provide free initial consultations.
However, please know when you do that rarely if ever are criminal legal issues resolved with letters and phone calls, and law school and admission to the bar takes years and literally hundreds of thousands of dollars, so if you're looking for a $50 ten minute resolution to a violation of probation arrest warrant, you will likely be disappointed.
