Conviction in Nassau county 21 years ago Live in Suffolk Cannot get license for 5 years due to two additional instances but do not drink 5 years ago didn't blow because I switched seats with friend and was scared Last conviction, didn't know I was drinking that night DMV just informed me I need to have one expunged to get hardship license Full time caregiver for 84 year old father Don't drink Am in treatment program, have intoxalock in car and am on probation Can have character references Never failed any drug or breathalyzer tests since conviction Scared going to lose care of father need license to work Bad history, but am upstanding person who needs help Need to know what my options are Willing to do anything the court requires
Unfortunately, New York State does not allow for the expungement of a prior criminal conviction, which means you were convicted either by a guilty plea or by trial of a misdemeanor or felony.
The New York State DMV does allow for a restricted license for work purposes. You should contact the DMV about the best way to go ahead and get this done.
