I told her about a shoplifting class she can take from the national association of shoplifting prevention to defer and prevent theft through education and awareness from jail time or UN realistic expectations probation
It is harder to get a first time offender program when you have a prior theft. Sometimes if the prior theft was a juvenile offense, I tell them that it should not be counted because it was a juvenile offense and really, the current offense, is their first adult criminal justice interaction.
