Is it possible for me to expunge a 2 count larceny misdemeanor?

In the state of Michigan, is there any way that you can get a misdemeanor with 2 counts of larceny less than 200.00 expunged? I am trying to get this off of my record and am getting no answers.

How old is it? Is there any other convictions on your record? Under the statute for expungment the answer would be NO. However depending on the facts and what you have done with your life since the incident an attorney may be able to convince both the prosecutor and the judge to allow you to withdraw your plea and then dismiss the case. This only works if you have been a boy scout since the convictions. It is not certain and depends on the good will of both judge and prosecutor. You need an attorney.

Yes, it is possible but it depends on your circumstances. There was a recent amendment to Michigan's expungement statute that may be beneficial to you. Hire a criminal defense lawyer to review your case and give you an opinion on what it would take to clean your criminal history.

Speaking in general terms, there are several significant obstacles to getting offenses expunged in Michigan. Expunging a criminal charge is great way of clearing up past mistakes. However, there are a series of obstacles. First, a person may expunge only one prior conviction and they can only have "no more than 2 minor offenses in addition to the offense for which the person files an application."

The answer is no, unless the crimes were committed while you were 20 or younger. There are new exceptions for certain crimes committed by young adults.

No. You can expunge a criminal conviction if you have only one criminal conviction.
