Is my record sealed now or has it been erased now that I am 18?

More details to this question:
At age 17, I was accused of a misdemeanor for having a pocket knife in my car, on school grounds. All of court and everything else was officially done with by January 2013. I coach a sport and they are going to run a background check. Can I move up in my job position and will this affect me?

Age 17 you are an adult in Texas so nothing is sealed. If the case was not dismissed, it cannot be expunged.? It can be sealed if you got a deferred but if a school runs a check, they WILL find it. Anyone who checks using your fingerprints can find it, and any school and or licensing agency can find it.

At age 17, you were considered an adult in the eyes of the court, unless you were charged in juvenile court and your record was actually sealed. If you were charged in regular (adult) court and you did not receive probation and a suspended imposition of sentence (SIS) and you ended up with a conviction, then that conviction will show up on a background check.
