More details to this question:
In June 2003, I sold an 8 ball of cocaine to a friend who had a friend with him. I didn't know the friend was an undercover state trooper. Police came to my house a month later and told me that they were going to press charges. Then they came back in August 2003 and arrested me on paper because I had 2 little children. I just went to the state police sometime in September and they then proceeded with finger prints and lots of questions. Then the let me leave. I didn't hear anything for a long time. Then in 2005, I told the officer who arrested me that I had to move with my kids because I was about to become homeless and that I wanted to take care of this matter as soon as possible. The officer said he understood. In February 2005, I become homeless and had to move. I told the office that I would come back and deal with it. He had my phone to call me and let me know. I never heard anything. The officer filed the complaint to the court in 2005 of January. I'm lost and don't know what to do. I have never been in trouble since then.

You need to review all the details with an attorney. They may not have used due diligence to find you if they had a good phone number. This may help with any applicable statue of limitations argument.
