QUESTION

Is there a statute of limitations on my charges?

Asked on Jul 24th, 2014 on Drug Crimes - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
I ran from probation and a suspended sentAnce. I have an open charge of possession of heroin. My probation is for receiving a stolen motor vehicle which I did some of my time already and have 6 months suspended. I live in Massachusetts and that's where my charges are from. Will this go away under the statute of limitations?

No, the statute of limitations only limits how long the state has to bring charges, not how long those charges can remain open.  The length of time that charges can remain open is limited by your "speedy trial" rights, but those rights are put on hold if you go on the run.
