QUESTION

Is there a way I can get this misdemeanor off my record?

Asked on Apr 21st, 2014 on Expungements - Missouri
More details to this question:
I recently completed the National Registry to be an EMT and was offered a job in a health services. After all the medical tests and interviews were over, they called me and said they couldn't give me the job because of a theft charge on my record. It was 5 years ago, a misdemeanor, and only like a $50 fine. I can't get an expungement yet because it hasn't been 3 years since my last misdemeanor.

In Missouri, you can not get a theft conviction expunged, no matter how many years have elapsed since the conviction date.

You could see an attorney with the details, but it appears that you have already researched the law and recognize in your jurisdiction that you cannot have an expungement under your current circumstances.
