Is there anything legally I can do to remove this damaging information?

More details to this question:
I was falsely accused of attempted murder. I spent 2 months in jail waiting for my court date, the charges were dismissed right away. It still is on my record regardless of saying dismissed and it is in the newspaper. Is there anything legally I can do to remove this damaging information?

If this was in Massachusetts you can petition to have your record sealed. We do this all the time.
