Is there paper work that can be submitted to speed up a PCRA?

More details to this question:
My fiancé was sentenced 12-24 years for possession of a fire arm (which was in the vehicle with 5 other people and when they arrested him he wasn't in the vehicle. It was three women in the back of the vehicle which they let go, and him and the driver but arrested. The driver was sentenced the same but that his reduced and he will be out next year. There were no fingerprints of my fiancé on the gun. The driver also wrote a letter stating that is his gun. My fiancé’s current status is "PCRA is awaiting Appellate Court Decision". I spoke with his court appointed lawyer and he saying that it might take another year for them to make a decision which is insane. My fiancé is already 6 years in his sentence. He is now trying to get time back to come home ASAP. Is there any paper work that can be submitted by my fiancé or the court appointed attorney to speed up the process? This is not justice at all! He is incarcerated for such a long time for absolutely no reason!
