QUESTION

Issued a ticket with incorrect address on it

Asked on Nov 25th, 2013 on Traffic Violations - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I was in an accident. The police officer mailed the ticket to me. However, he wrote the wrong address on the ticket. The ticket was 'returned to sender' then finally made it to my house. I'm now getting a citation for failure to appear. I know the failure to appear is invalid, however, can the ticket be invalid now?

please make sure that you document in writing that the ticket was sent to the incorrect address. please make sure that you address the 'failure to appear' asap. you could be arrested. the mailing to the incorrect address does not effect the validity of the traffic citation. ed dimon, esq.
