QUESTION

Lake County, IL Speeding Ticket - 22 Over

Asked on Oct 26th, 2014 on Traffic Violations - Illinois
More details to this question:
Yesterday I received a ticket for speeding (22 over the posted limit) as well as one for not having proof of insurance (I am insured but left neglected to have current card in the car). Both tickets indicate that I need to appear in court. This occurred in Lake Co. Illinois. My question is what I can expect on the court date. What will the speeding ticket likely cost? The last ticket I received had a price listed on the ticket and did not require court appearance so this is new to me. Will I have the option of doing online driving school? Supervision?

Your ticket is a must appear because of the insurance ticket. That causes both tickets to be "must appear".  If you bring your current insurance card that covers the vehicle itself, the Lake County State's Attorney's Office should dismiss the ticket.  Then you just need to resolve the regular speeding ticket.  If you have minimal prior criminal history, most places will allow you to have supervision.
