Looking for early parole

More details to this question:
My son was convicted of 1st degree drug offense for pot. He was sentenced 14 years and 7 without parole in a NJ state prison. Will he diffentitly have to serve the 7 years or is there something where his attorney can go to the prosecutor after 2 years to get an earlier parole hearing? Thank You for your help

We work daily with the Parole Board. The problem is that your son, under the sentence you described, he's not eligible for parole for seven years.  Why did he receive such a severe sentence ?   Was he selling large amounts of drugs ? The only option is to renegotiate the sentence with the prosecutor based upon your son's cooperation.
