QUESTION

Minor Driving while in possesion of marijuana

Asked on Nov 30th, 2014 on Traffic Violations - New Jersey
More details to this question:
My 17 year old son was pulled over for traffic stop and had car searched due to suspicious odor coming from car, permission was requested and granted by my husband who is owner of automobile. Son was arrested for possession of marijuana. He is charged with possession of marijuana while driving, and its first time offense. He has to appear in court in two weeks. What repercussions can this have, and would it be in our best interest to have legal representation at time of court appearance? I do not know what topic this would fall under.

You must have representation for your son. You do not want him to have either an arrest or conviction record. This will make employment more difficult. I am assuming a small amount of marihuana. We would be able to obtain a Conditional Discharge. Please call. Ed Dimon 732-797-1600 ext 235
