my brother has been in jail for 8 months for drugs now they want him to do 6 more months in rehab to detoxed 8 months in jail already what can i do?

so my brother has been in jail for 8 months for drug charges he was doing them he has been waiting to plea out but now that he is probation when to go see him and asked him some things based on what he was doing now they want him to wait 4 to 6 weeks more to get transfer to a rehab center to start a 6 month program too detoxed when he basically already detoxed for 8 months what can i do ? more

Many counties use rehab programs the "help" people and don't consider it punishment. Usually to avoid (if it has come up) is to convince the DA or the court that the individual doesn't need it
