More details to this question:
In January of 2013 I was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny because I was in the presence of someone who committed larceny. In March of 2013 I met with the prosecutor and after 25 hours of community service my charge was "nolled". I am currently trying to get an internship in the criminal justice field. My question is how long will this stay on my record? Do I have to do something to have it removed, or is it removed automatically? Do I have to disclose this information with my internship director? Any information will be helpful. Thanks.
Don't call me you should really ask a local TX lawyer about this. My thought would be if your case was nolle prossed, you were not convicted, but you will still have an arrest record for it-meaning, all the papers relating to your arrest were disseminated all through the criminal system, like FBI, TX, local, etc. SInce you were not convicted, at least in my state, you can file a petition for expungment, which will result in all of those records being wiped out.
Your second question. If you were arrested for the larceny, you will have to answer yes if asked if ever arrested. IF you are asked if you were ever convicted, you can say no.
