More details to this question:
In the state of NJ can you use your weekly pre-trial time against your sentencing time. In another words if you are sentenced to 5 years with a 25 month stipulation and did 2 years of weekly pre-trial can you get a shorter stipulation

No. The time comes off the ‘back end of the sentence’ . You would get credit towards the five years but not the 25 months. Ed Dimon, Esq. 732-797-1600
