Yes, your probation/parole officer can write down the license plate numbers. You give up most of your rights when you are placed on probation or parole. The probation/parole officer is able to not only go into your house and search it without a warrant typically, but can also inspect the exterior of any car that is sitting in your driveway in plain view.
