More details to this question:
Tried turning in a rifle and pistol, was in my yard so sheriff could see me upon anpproach annd that there was no threat. Left pistol clrarwd and in the open, had a rifle outside in yard, its disabled annd not a firearm bc it doesn’t shoot a projectile. It has been rendered inoperable, but was going to let them take it if they wished. Before my father could call the sheriff, a city police officer pulled up and I said “ oh, you got our call, good I have a gun to turn in”. He took the rifle lying where I placed it in the yard, secured it and then he asked me “what’s this for”, I said “self defense”, and he arrested me. He took me to the hospital, telling staff I had guns and was making “pipe bombs”, the police lied, calling obvious scrap metal “pipe bombs”. I learned this later. The head of the public defenders office, in a meeting told me as I walked into her office “time to put your big boy pants on”, in front of my mother and fiancée, im scared and alone.
You're dealing with a felony firearms case, why are you going to the public defenders office? You need to treat this with the seriousness that it is. I highly recommend contacting a local attorney to represent your interests and stop fiddling around.
