Asked on Dec 04th, 2013 on Expungements - New Jersey
More details to this question:
Is Conditional Discharge for possession of marijuana, under Union Co./NJ law, considered an admission of guilt? Conviction? Or is it a dismissal of charges? If CD was given, does the individual's record benefit by expunging the arrest? or will the disposition still be a hindrance in the life of the individual; employment, migration etc...

conditional discharge means that the 'charges are put on the shelf for a certain period and if one does not re-offend, the charges are dismissed'. did you complete the requirements for the conditional discharge ? if so, the charges are dismissed. i would then have the arrest expunged so that you can answer, pursuant to the expungement statute, that you have never been arrested. we do expungements every week. the cost is $1500. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
