If a military trained firearms expert purposely misses a shot on a victim, and then request victim be taken to the hospital on an attempt to avoid the commission of attempted first degree murder, is it possible to use renunciation defense?

Renunciation is an affirmative defense and very fact specific. The Defendant could use that defense and carries the burden of proving it.
