QUESTION

shoplifting

Asked on Jan 02nd, 2014 on Criminal Law - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
Hi there! Recently shoplifted a $99 item at a retail chain store and didn't get caught. However, I did purchase another item from the store before exiting with my credit card. Even though no staff from the store caught me at the time that I left they can track me from my card payment when they find the empty box of the shoplifted item. Since the store does have my name and surveillance video of the theft, will they decide to turn their evidence over to the police? What do you think I should do?
