QUESTION

Should I even bother getting a lawyer or just face jail time?

More details to this question:
After a fun night out with friends our driver got too drunk so I decided I would take the risk of driving (though my license was suspended. I got pulled over and I now have 4 charges. 1)DUI 2nd (I blew .01above the SC limit) 2) DUS 3rd & subsequent (4th) 3) Habitual 4) Providing false info to an officer...... WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!!! Now my preliminary court date is the 31st of October and I have little to no money at all! If given time I could easily save for a lawyer, However, my charges scare me..... I have a good job and can pay whatever fines are given... But it just so happens my worst fear in life is going back to jail. Should I save and spend all this money on a lawyer in hopes that he/she will at least keep me out of jail? Or should I just face the facts and enjoy the little bit of freedom I have left?

This answer does not create a lawyer/client relationship.  You are facing 4 charges and the loss of your freedom.  I would strongly advise that you hire a lawyer to protect your interests.  I am both a S.C. attorney and board certified internist.  A conviction on these 4 offenses could ruin your life, which is much more important than facing a little jail time.  Perhaps with a good lawyer you can avoid the charges and jail time as well.  This is far more serious than a traffic violation.
