I was at a friend’s house, drinking, watching football. On my way home, I hit a car lightly in parking lot. There was no damage to car. I left the parking lot. Someone witnessed this and called the cops. I was pulled over given field sobriety test. The cop then took me in for blood work. He says results will be in 2-3 weeks. He let me call ride and leave. Potentially, you could be charged via summons (by mail) with a leaving the scene of and accident (titled damage to unattended vehicles or property) and possibly DUI. You have no control over whether you will be charged or not. If you receive a summons for a court date in the mail, take it to an attorney.
