should i use a public defender

More details to this question:
i am unable to pay for a attorney for my 17 yr. old grandson in jail on a criminal charge. but i'm not sure how well the p.d. will do to represent him. is there a strong ability to get good representation from a p.d?

Like attorneys in general, some PDs are great and some are not or are lazy. IF you or yoru grandson are not comfortable with the PD after talking to him, you can alway try to hire private counsel.
