QUESTION

Speeding ticket, Unregistered vehicle, Will I go on probation?

Asked on Dec 16th, 2015 on Criminal Law - Michigan
More details to this question:
I got pulled over for speeding and my dad forgot to re-register the plate from my old civic onto my new car which i got recently. I am 18 years old. I told the cop that the car wasnt stolen and that we have car insurance for it. My dad simply forgot to re-register the plate but he did it anyways after I got a misdemeanor for having an "unregistered vehicle." No drugs or alcohol were involved. I am a michigan medical marijuana patient. My question is, is there a possibility of me going on probation for this?. Also, will i get drug tested in court? If so, is it bad to test positive?

It depends entirely on what court you have the ticket in. Most of the time this could be pled to a non-misdemeanor offense which would mean you pay a fine and there would be no probation. Tom Stotz 586-465-4198
