QUESTION

Statute of Limitations

Asked on May 02nd, 2014 on Sex Crimes - Texas
More details to this question:
My girlfriend (19 years old now) was raped when she was 14 years old by someone who, at the time was 19 years old. I know that since five years have passed since the event, so pressing strictly 'rape' charges might not end with our desired result (or is that more of a myth?) I was wondering though, would pressing statutory rape charges be a feasible course of action? Thank you for any and all help/advice you can give. Any sort of assistance would be instrumental in helping her get at least a bit of closure from this awful situation.
