QUESTION

Stealing

Asked on Jun 08th, 2013 on Felonies - Missouri
More details to this question:
Stupidity and alcohol go hand by hand. Last night my girl paid for a sandwich and "5 hours shot" ($10) and then just walked by the Redbull Stand, took one ($2) and walked away. At the door the manager and a cop stopped her and got her a ticket for STEALING. First offense, 2 master degrees, 4.0 GPA. Feel very stupid! After all this might be the end of her carrier. Court date is within a month, got the number of the person in charge at the corporate level and will talk to him very soon. Any advice? What kind of options do we have? Any chance the whole thing can be dropped like it never happened?

There's a chance the prosecutor would sympathize with her situation and agree not to file charges if she completed certain programs prior to dismissal.  Just kind of depends on the jurisdiction and the prosecutor.  In any event, she is going to need to retain an attorney.
