More details to this question:
I did something stupid about 13 years ago and I thought it was off my record I was told by the judge when I finished probation and paid $300 I could get it expounged from my record. I thought it was until I applied to a job where they did a background check and found out it was still on there. Did I need to get a lawyer to do something because all I did was give the 300 dollars to the clerk at the justice center in Blount County and this was about 13 years ago. Thanks for any advice or referrals to a lawyer.

Go to the clierk of the court in in the county where you were convicted and ask them for their procedure for getting a charge expunged. They will tell you if you need an attorney or not.
