What are my rights if cops came to my friends with the search warrant to find specific items?

More details to this question:
The largest was a generator and smallest was a 16 inch saw blade. Can they look in envelopes? They say you can't look in a ring box for an elephant. That happened in August. Now I am getting charged with the meth that was in that envelope. My friend that lived there already said it was his and in the envelope there was a check that was written to him.
The police are only supposed to search for things specifically identified in the search warrant. There is an exception for contraband that is found in plain view. It sounds like you may have strong defenses to this felony charge. You need attorney assistance right away.
