More details to this question:
The car was gotten from a buy here pay here car lot in Mississippi. The person then moved to Tennessee and hasn't made it a payment in two years. This person is on felony probation for a grand theft auto accomplice in Alabama. We have contacted the car lot and they are coming to get the car but wants his address. Now if somebody were to get ahold of his probation officer would he be facing any jail time?
Possiblly. Normally the failure to pay on a car note is a civil matter. However, if the facts are right, the car dealer can seek a warrant for theft and this would be a violation of probation.
