What are the fines and cost for refusing a chemical test?

More details to this question:
I refused chemical breath test. I have me convicted of impaired and paid court cost but not sure about the driving responsibility fee. I know for impaired, I have to pay $1000 for 2 years. Is there any fee for chemical test refusal?

I do not know of any fee; however for an impaired (not an OWI) the Treasury fee is $500 for two years. Within 2 weeks of refusing, you could have asked for a hearing with Secretary of State to fight the refusal. If not, you can hire an attorney and go to your county's Circuit Court to ask for a restricted driver's license during the one year suspension time from refusing the pbt.

If it is your first offense, your license will be suspended for a year for refusing the chemical breath test. Also, six points will be added to your driving record which will supersede the points for your impaired driving conviction.

There is no Driver Responsibility Fee imposed for a refusal.
