I am charged with a 1st degree misdemeanor theft charge, and it is my first offense. I just want to know what to expect, but it is my first offense so I was wondering how lenient they would be.

Interesting question. Answer- It all depends on the Court, circumstances, facts, and any mitigation that you may present. It is possible that there is a diversion program or program tailored for your case. I believe at a minimum you should contact a competent lawyer to review the facts of your individual case.
