What can I do if a wrong venue was cited on my summon?
Asked on Jan 14th, 2014 on Criminal Law - New York
More details to this question:
I was given a summons for disorderly conduct. The officer wrote that I should appear at the New York county criminal court. While searching the summons online it says that I should appear to the Kings County court. Is this summons defective?
The summons is not defective. Brooklyn pink summons cases are heard at 346 Broadway in Manhattan. I handle these all the time. If you hire a lawyer you do not have to appear yourself.
