What can I most likely expect when I go to court if I shoplifted to the amount of $12.99?

More details to this question:
I recently I had a lapse in judgment and I shoplifted something that was $12.99. It was completely out of character and I will never do it again! I'm 22 and in the state of Minnesota. I've had 2 minor consumption's but those were years ago. I'm very scared and am totally self-efficient so I pay everything on my own. I'm just curious if anyone can tell me what I can most likely expect when I go to court? And any advice to me. I feel really horrible and that's not just because I was caught it was a dumb thing to do!
You should seriously consider hiring a lawyer to represent you. The consequences for this crime will likely be minimal. However, the more important thing at play is a permanent criminal record. You want to get a lawyer to help you try to work out an arrangement to avoid that criminal conviction. Good luck.
