QUESTION

What can my prior DUI do to me?

Asked on Sep 27th, 2016 on DUI/DWI - Florida
More details to this question:
I was arrested and charged with a DUI this past weekend. When I made my first appearance in court, they mentioned a previous DUI I had in another state 9 years ago. I went to court again in the morning and I am curious as to what it will do to me here.

They can treat it as a 2nd ovi; stiffer penalties and jail time; you need to hire a lawyer who handles criminal matters like me; or if you have no income, you should qualify for a public defender
